At the moment that you do know, you can start working with the solution and you can look at all the different solutions and how you want to apply them. But applying it is often the hardest part, because many people do not know how to apply it in a solution-oriented way. This is because there are many people who actually only think negatively and think that they cannot do this themselves.

Of course it's nonsense that you can't do something. In the end, if you want something, you can do it, but you have to get yourself over a barrier which for some people can be quite difficult. This is because there are many different things that can cause you to have a barrier.

What do you want?

A lot of people think that a solution is in a small corner and you have to dig very deep to find one. The moment you are looking for a solution for something, you actually have to start thinking with yourself what you want. The moment you have straightened this out for yourself and know what you want, you can find a solution much easier than when you don't know this. 

For example, you may want to go to another school or you may want to buy another car, but you don't know exactly how to go about it. This way you have to find a solution if you really want it. You actually need to make a list of all the advantages and disadvantages and see if it really has the disadvantages you think it has.

Often people only think negatively and can only list the disadvantages. The moment you start thinking about it, you will find many more advantages. Otherwise you wouldn't have thought about it at all. You don't just start thinking about something, while you don't really want to do it. 

The moment you start thinking about something, you can already conclude that you would like to have it, but that you don't really know how to go about it. Every situation is different of course and you should decide for yourself exactly how to go about it, but you can always ask for help. 

This way you can let people from the outside take a look at what you would like to do, but how you don't know how to handle something and the moment they can find a solution, this will help you too.

Of course you will not learn to think in terms of solutions, but this is a step in the right direction. At the moment you want to do this yourself, you have to put everything on paper. Eventually you will come to a solution because everything is right in front of you. 

That way you can see exactly what the advantages and disadvantages are and what exactly are the reasons why you want to change something and what is so nice about the fact that you are changing. This way a solution will come to you automatically and you'll see for yourself that it isn't that hard to do this all by yourself. In this way you will also become a lot more independent and you will be able to solve something yourself more easily.

Are things going well?

In addition, it is very important to already determine what exactly is going well, are there things that are already going well. Then it is important to emphasize these and to see what else can be improved. The moment certain things are already going well, it means you are taking good steps in the right direction. 

This way you can approach everything in a positive way without thinking negatively about it. This is a big advantage, because you already have good things planned and for many people this is a big step. This way you can make this step bigger. By constantly thinking about what kind of steps can come next.

The moment you dare to think about what exactly will come after these steps, you are already doing very well. You can then see for yourself that you are working in the right direction. At the moment that you want to start thinking solution focused, you actually need good self-reflection and you need to know yourself what you are good at and what the best options are for you. 

This way you can decide for yourself what the next steps will be and what you would like to take as a next step. Not every step is compulsory and you can perhaps skip a step if you think you don't need it. It is important to always work in baby steps and not to want too much at once.

This is because there are a lot of things that could go wrong. That's why you should always make sure you know exactly how you want to proceed and what you have written down exactly.

Taking steps

Now of course the next step is that you have to take steps yourself. This is a very big barrier for people. The moment you have to take steps on your own without someone else helping you, this is quite difficult. This is because you will soon start thinking about whether this is the right choice and whether you shouldn't have done it differently. 

These are all negative thoughts that you don't really need at all, but that do pop up every time. The moment these negative thoughts come up, you have to think to yourself why exactly you want to do this and what the reasons are for doing this.

At the moment you have all the positive points and you still have doubts, there might be another way to go. Of course this is not the best option for everyone, but as long as you feel good about it, you have taken the right steps. 

In points like these, it's always about what you think and not what someone else thinks. That's why it's so important that you remember what you think and what you want. That way it will be a lot easier for you to go through these steps. These steps can sometimes be quite intense. That is why it is important that you have everything in order for yourself.

The thing that bothers a lot of people is the fact that they have a lot of different negative thoughts that aren't really necessary at all. If you are having all these negative thoughts, the best option is to talk about them and find out what they mean to you. The moment you have negative thoughts that don't make sense, you can see this as a lesson.
